Peace silk, also known as ahimsa silk, is harvested after the silkworm has left the cocoon. This process ensures that no harm comes to the silkworms, making it a more ethical and cruelty-free alternative to conventional silk production.

The blend offers a distinct tactile experience. While cotton provides structure and durability, the silk adds a subtle, soft luster and a more fluid drape, resulting in a napkin that feels more refined and luxurious than a standard cotton weave.

They are designed for both. While the artisanal quality makes them elegant enough for formal dinner parties, the durability of the cotton-silk blend allows them to withstand regular use. They will soften and develop more character with every wash.

To preserve the integrity of the handwoven fibers, we recommend hand washing in cool water with a gentle detergent or professional dry cleaning. Always air dry them flat to prevent stretching or distortion of the weave.

Like any natural, light-colored textile, they are susceptible to heavy staining from dark liquids like red wine or balsamic vinegar. We recommend treating spills immediately and washing them promptly to keep the fabric looking its best.
