Eden Brothers Bearded Iris City Lights

This variety is genetically capable of producing flowers in late spring and then again in early fall. To encourage that second flush of blooms, ensure the plant receives consistent water and sunlight throughout the summer months.

Bearded iris rhizomes should be planted shallowly, with the top of the rhizome just barely visible above the soil surface. Planting them too deep can cause rot and prevent the plant from blooming.

While no plant is 100% immune to wildlife, bearded irises are generally unpalatable to deer and rabbits due to their texture and chemical composition. They are a reliable choice for gardens where browsing animals are a common nuisance.

In late fall, after the foliage has died back, trim the leaves down to about 6 inches in a fan shape. This helps prevent pests and diseases from overwintering in the foliage and keeps your garden bed tidy.

While they thrive in garden beds, they can be grown in large containers if you have excellent drainage and plenty of sunlight. Ensure the pot is deep enough to accommodate the root system and use a well-draining potting mix.
