Alocasia Scalprum

A corm is the bulb-like base of the Alocasia plant. Receiving it as a fully rooted corm starter means the plant has already established a healthy root system, which significantly increases its chances of successfully acclimating to your home environment compared to a bare-root cutting.

This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Place it near an east-facing window or a few feet back from a south-facing window to ensure it gets enough energy to support its unique, textured foliage without the harsh direct sun that can scorch its leaves.

The Alocasia Scalprum is generally considered manageable for indoor growers. While it appreciates consistent moisture, it is not overly demanding; just ensure you allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.

It is not recommended. While some plants tolerate low light, the Alocasia Scalprum requires bright, indirect light to maintain its structural integrity and distinct leaf texture. In low-light conditions, the plant will likely become leggy and struggle to produce new growth.

Like most tropical Alocasias, the Scalprum appreciates higher humidity levels. While it can adapt to average household conditions, you will see the best results if you place it in a spot with slightly elevated humidity, such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
