MNL Corp Mountain Mint

Mountain Mint is a rhizomatous plant, meaning it spreads through underground runners. While it is not typically considered invasive, it can spread quickly in ideal conditions, so it is best suited for areas where it has room to naturalize or can be contained.

It is a genuine pollinator powerhouse. Mountain Mint is widely recognized by ecologists as one of the best plants for supporting native bees, wasps, butterflies, and beneficial insects due to its high nectar production.

Mountain Mint prefers full sun to partial shade. While it can tolerate some shade, you will see significantly fewer blooms and a less robust plant if it does not receive at least a few hours of direct sunlight daily.

The foliage has a distinct, sharp, and refreshing minty scent when crushed or brushed against, similar to culinary mint but often with a slightly more herbal or spicy undertone. It is excellent for sensory gardens or planting along pathways.

One of its best traits is its adaptability. Once established, it is quite resilient and can handle both dry spells and moist soil, making it a low-maintenance choice for rain gardens or areas with inconsistent drainage.
