Focal Kanta

Focal pairs a flax fiber cone with a pure beryllium tweeter to balance warmth and precision. The flax cone provides a natural, uncolored midrange, while the beryllium tweeter delivers incredibly fast, detailed highs without the harshness often found in metal domes.

While these are bookshelf speakers, they are designed to perform best on dedicated stands that isolate them from vibrations. If you must place them on furniture, ensure the surface is sturdy and consider using isolation pads to prevent unwanted resonance.

The high-density polymer cabinet is significantly more rigid and better at damping internal vibrations than traditional wood enclosures. This structural integrity helps eliminate sound diffraction, resulting in a cleaner, more focused soundstage.

The Kanta has a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms and a minimum of 3.9 Ohms, making it relatively easy to drive for most quality amplifiers. However, to get the most out of the drivers, we recommend pairing them with an amplifier that offers stable current delivery to handle the dynamic peaks.

The Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) suspension is designed to stabilize the speaker surround during movement. By controlling the cone's motion more precisely, it significantly reduces distortion in the midrange, leading to a clearer and more neutral vocal reproduction.

The Kanta offers a frequency response down to 46 Hz, with a low-frequency point of 42 Hz. While this provides punchy, articulate bass for most music genres, those who prioritize deep sub-bass for home theater may eventually want to pair them with a dedicated subwoofer.
