While they are close relatives, the Senecio herreianus features distinct, tear-shaped leaves rather than round spheres. These leaves also have translucent 'windows' that allow light to penetrate, which gives the plant a unique, glowing appearance.

It arrives in a standard 4-inch plastic grower's pot, which is perfectly functional. However, because it has a trailing growth habit, it thrives best in a hanging basket or a pot placed on a high shelf where its stems can cascade freely.

This succulent prefers infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as the plant stores moisture in its leaves and is susceptible to root rot if kept consistently damp.

It is best to avoid high-humidity areas like bathrooms. This plant prefers low humidity and warmer temperatures, so a living room or bedroom with bright, indirect light is a much better environment.

It means the plant should be placed near a window where it receives plenty of daylight, but without the sun's rays hitting the leaves directly, which can scorch them. An east-facing window or a spot a few feet back from a south-facing window is usually ideal.
