Soil to Studio Nargis Quilt

Hand block-printing is an artisanal technique where carved wooden blocks are dipped in dye and stamped onto the fabric by hand. This process creates subtle variations in the pattern, which is a hallmark of authentic craftsmanship rather than a defect.

This quilt is made with two layers of soft cotton muslin and natural cotton batting, making it a lightweight to medium-weight piece. It is ideal for layering during colder months or using on its own as a breathable coverlet during warmer seasons.

Despite its delicate appearance, this quilt is machine washable. We recommend using a gentle cycle with cold water and a mild detergent, then tumble drying on low or line drying to preserve the integrity of the hand-stitching.

The quilt features a distinct floral motif on both sides, allowing you to flip it over to change the look of your bed instantly. Both sides are finished with the same high-quality hand block-printed cotton, so there is no 'wrong' side.

Natural dyes and block-printing techniques can experience very slight softening over time, which often adds to the quilt's vintage charm. To keep the colors vibrant for as long as possible, always wash in cold water and avoid harsh chemical bleaches.
