While it arrives at over one foot tall in a 6-inch pot, the Ficus umbellata has an architectural growth habit that can reach several feet in height over time. Its ultimate size will depend on the light it receives and the size of the pot you eventually repot it into.

Like many tropical plants, it appreciates a humid environment. While it can adapt to average household humidity, it will look its best if you keep it away from direct drafts or heating vents, and you might consider misting the leaves occasionally.

It is best to let the plant acclimate to your home's environment for a few weeks before repotting. Once it has settled, you can move it to a slightly larger container if you notice roots growing out of the drainage holes.
