This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sun, which can scorch the variegated leaves, but ensure it isn't in a dark corner, as low light will cause the plant to lose its vibrant patterning.

It requires a bit of attention, specifically regarding humidity. Because it prefers a humid environment between 60-80%, it does best in a bathroom, a greenhouse cabinet, or near a humidifier, especially during drier months.

The key is consistency. You should keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Check the top inch of soil; if it feels dry to the touch, it is time to water.

The Ctenanthe lubbersiana prefers a warm, stable environment between 18–26°C (65–79°F). Keep it away from drafty windows, air conditioning vents, or heaters, as sudden temperature fluctuations can stress the foliage.

A loss of variegation is almost always a sign that the plant is not receiving enough light. If the leaves start turning solid green, try moving the plant to a brighter spot with more indirect light to encourage the return of its signature patterning.
