The mill features an adjustable grinding mechanism located at the base. Simply turn the screw or adjustment nut to tighten for a finer grind or loosen for a coarser texture, allowing you to customize the output for different recipes.

The brass is untreated and will naturally oxidize over time, developing a unique, darkened patina. If you prefer a bright, polished look, you can use a standard brass cleaner occasionally, but many owners prefer the character that develops with age.

This mill is specifically engineered for peppercorns. Using it for other spices, especially those with high oil content or different hardness levels, may clog or damage the precision metal mechanism.

The mill is not dishwasher safe. To clean, simply wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. If you need to clean the internal mechanism, use a dry brush to remove any residual pepper dust; avoid using water or soap, as moisture can cause the metal parts to corrode.

For safe shipping, the handle is stored inside the main body of the mill. You will need to unscrew the top or open the mill to retrieve the handle and attach it to the grinding shaft before your first use.

Unlike many modern mills that crush peppercorns, this Alexander mill uses a specialized metal cutting mechanism. It is designed to slice the peppercorns, which releases more essential oils and provides a more potent, aromatic flavor profile.
