Because this is a bush-type variety, it is more compact than vining squash, but it still requires room to spread. You should plan for 36 to 48 inches of space between plants in a row, with 6 to 8 feet between rows to ensure proper airflow and growth.

This variety is best suited for direct sowing. Squash generally have sensitive root systems that do not transplant well, so it is recommended to plant the seeds directly into your garden soil once it has warmed to 70-75°F.

The fruit is ready to harvest when the skin has transitioned from its initial white color to a mature tan shade. With a 90-day maturity window, you should also look for a hard, dull rind that resists being punctured by your thumbnail.

An F1 hybrid is a cross between two specific parent varieties, bred to combine the best traits of both, such as disease resistance, yield, or flavor. While these seeds will produce excellent fruit, you should not save seeds from the resulting squash, as they will not grow true to type the following year.

Plant your seeds at a depth of 0.75 to 1.0 inch. This depth provides enough soil coverage to keep the seed moist during germination while allowing the seedling to emerge efficiently.
