Because it is natural stone, it is porous. We recommend wiping it down occasionally to prevent soap buildup and ensuring it is placed on a surface that can handle minor moisture, as the stone may absorb some water over time.

The bottom of the dish is generally smooth, but since it is natural stone, it is a good idea to check the underside for any rough edges before placing it on delicate surfaces like marble or polished wood. You can easily add small adhesive felt or silicone pads to the bottom if you want extra protection.

The surface has a natural, organic texture consistent with stone. While it is refined enough to hold a bar of soap securely, you will feel the unique variations and specks that give the piece its character.

With dimensions of 4.5 inches by 4 inches, it comfortably accommodates standard-sized soap bars and most circular or rectangular shampoo bars. If you use oversized, artisanal bars, you may want to measure them against these dimensions first.

This model is a solid piece of stone without drainage holes. To keep your soap from sitting in water, we suggest placing it in an area with good airflow or occasionally wiping out the dish to prevent the soap from softening.
