WTB KOM Tough Rim

This rim is built for aggressive trail riding, enduro racing, and bikepacking. It is engineered to handle high-impact terrain and heavy gear loads where durability is prioritized over shaving every possible gram.

The KOM Tough features a recessed channel designed for WTB's Solid Strip, which protects the tubeless tape from being punctured by spoke nipples. While you can use standard tubeless tape, the Solid Strip provides an extra layer of reliability for high-pressure setups.

The spoke holes are drilled at a specific angle that matches the natural trajectory of the spoke as it leaves the hub. This reduces binding at the nipple head, ensures even tension distribution, and helps prevent spoke fatigue over time.

A 30mm internal width is a versatile sweet spot for modern mountain biking. It provides excellent sidewall support for tires ranging from 2.3 to 2.6 inches wide, helping to reduce tire squirm during hard cornering.

The I-Beam design uses dual support beams inside the rim extrusion to increase vertical and lateral stiffness. This makes the rim more resistant to denting and deformation when hitting rocks or roots at speed.
