The Rise is designed as a 'lightweight' e-MTB, focusing on a natural, agile ride feel rather than raw power. It uses a tuned motor system that delivers assistance more subtly, making the bike handle much like a traditional mountain bike while still providing enough boost to extend your range and tackle steep climbs.

It is ideal for riders who want the benefits of pedal assistance but dislike the heavy, sluggish feel of traditional full-power electric bikes. If you prioritize handling, playfulness, and a bike that feels like a standard trail bike on descents, this is a top-tier choice.

Because the motor is tuned for efficiency and the bike is significantly lighter than standard e-bikes, the 420Wh battery is surprisingly capable. Most riders find it sufficient for several hours of aggressive trail riding, though your total range will ultimately depend on your assist mode, terrain, and rider input.

Both motors are 'RS' (Rider Synergy) tuned, meaning Orbea has customized the firmware to provide a more natural power delivery curve compared to stock Shimano motors. The EP801RS is the higher-tier, lighter option, while the EP600RS offers similar performance characteristics in a slightly heavier package.

The 140mm version is optimized for all-around trail riding and efficiency, offering a snappier feel on varied terrain. The 160mm version is better suited for aggressive riding, steeper descents, and rougher technical trails where extra suspension support is beneficial.
