ENVE Composites G23 Wheelset

These wheels are optimized for gravel tires between 33mm and 45mm wide. This range balances the internal rim width with the tire profile to ensure stability and proper sidewall support.

The G23 features a hookless bead design, which is engineered specifically for tubeless setups. While you can technically use a tube in a pinch, these rims are designed to be run tubeless to take full advantage of the pinch-flat protection and lower pressure capabilities.

While they are purpose-built for gravel, their lightweight carbon construction and responsive ride quality make them capable on pavement. However, if you primarily ride smooth roads, you might prefer a deeper rim profile for better aerodynamics.

The G23 wheelset is compatible with HG 11-speed and XDR freehub bodies, covering the most common gravel and road drivetrain standards. It is designed for 12mm thru-axle setups and disc brakes.

The wide hookless bead creates a broader surface area at the rim edge, which significantly reduces the likelihood of the tire sidewall getting pinched against the rim during hard impacts. This allows you to run lower tire pressures for better traction and comfort without worrying about pinch flats.
