While it is effective for most modern ski bases, it is best suited for experienced waxers who understand base structure. If you are working with delicate or very soft base materials, use a lighter touch to avoid damaging the base structure.

Steel brushes are more aggressive and efficient at clearing wax from the base structure, especially when using harder, cold-weather waxes. They provide a deeper clean that nylon or horsehair brushes cannot achieve on their own.
