Swix V55 Hardwax

The V55 is a versatile hardwax formulated for temperatures hovering around freezing. It performs best in new fallen snow between 0°C and +1°C, and in older, more transformed granular snow between 0°C and -2°C.

It is designed for both. The formula uses high-quality refined waxes and synthetic rubbers that provide the consistency needed for racing while remaining user-friendly enough for recreational trail skiing.

The V55 is specifically calibrated for the 'transition' zone—that tricky range right around freezing where snow conditions can change rapidly from fresh to transformed. It bridges the gap between cold-weather waxes and those meant for warmer, wetter conditions.

Yes, that is one of its primary strengths. Because it contains a blend of pharmaceutical-grade oils and synthetic rubbers, it maintains reliable grip on both fresh, soft crystals and the harder, more abrasive grains found in older snow.

Each tin contains 45g of hardwax, which is a standard size that should last for many outings depending on the length of your skis and how frequently you apply it.
