A clip-on fitter is designed to attach directly onto a standard light bulb rather than resting on a harp or fitter bracket. You simply slide the metal clip over the bulb, making it a quick and easy solution for small accent lamps that lack traditional hardware.

This shade is designed to fit standard incandescent, LED, or CFL bulbs. However, because it clips directly onto the bulb, we recommend using a standard-shaped bulb rather than an oddly shaped or oversized decorative bulb to ensure a secure fit.

A good rule of thumb is that the shade should be roughly two-thirds the height of your lamp base. For a balanced look, measure your current shade or the space where the lamp will sit; our 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch options cater to small accent lamps, so choose the size that best fits the scale of your specific fixture.

A hardback shade features a rigid, durable backing material behind the fabric, which helps the shade maintain its crisp empire shape over time. This construction is more resistant to sagging or denting compared to soft-back shades, ensuring a clean, tailored look.

While the fabric is opaque enough to hide the bulb and diffuse light, it is designed to create a warm, inviting glow rather than a bright, task-oriented beam. It is perfect for creating ambiance in a bedroom or living area, though it may not be the best choice for a primary reading light.
