The bag is designed to hold up to eight surfboards. However, the exact number depends on the thickness and volume of your specific boards, as well as how you pack them with fins and padding.

Most travel bags use uniform padding throughout. The Regulator features 3/4-inch thick sidewalls, which are significantly denser than the top and bottom panels, providing crucial impact protection for the rails of your boards during transit.

While the 3/8-inch top and bottom padding and 3/4-inch sidewalls offer substantial protection, it is still standard practice to use board socks or towels between boards to prevent dings and resin transfer, especially when carrying a full quiver.

The internal and external compression straps are essential for keeping your boards immobilized. By cinching the bag tight, you minimize movement and friction between boards, which is the primary cause of damage when traveling with multiple surfboards.

While you can use it for daily trips, it is built specifically for heavy-duty, long-haul travel. It is quite large and heavy, so for quick local sessions, you might find a lighter, single-board bag more convenient.
