L.L.Bean Honeycomb Matelassé Coverlet

Matelassé is a weaving technique that mimics the look of a padded or quilted fabric. In this coverlet, the double-cloth process creates a raised, honeycomb texture that provides depth and softness without the need for actual batting or stuffing.

It is designed as a four-season piece, meaning it has a medium weight. While it provides a cozy layer, you may want to pair it with a duvet or heavier blanket during colder months if you prefer extra warmth.

Because of the generous dimensions and the texture of the fabric, L.L.Bean recommends using a large commercial-sized washer and dryer. This ensures the coverlet has enough room to move freely, preventing uneven wear or damage to the weave.

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification ensures that the cotton is grown organically and that the entire manufacturing process meets strict environmental and social criteria. It also guarantees that the final product is free from harmful substances.
