A 34-liter capacity is generally ideal for day hikes or very lightweight overnight trips where you are packing minimal gear. If you are planning to carry a tent, sleeping bag, and cooking system, you may find this capacity tight unless you are an experienced ultralight backpacker.

The internal frame is designed to transfer the weight of your gear from your shoulders to your hips, which significantly improves stability on uneven terrain. While it adds a small amount of weight compared to frameless packs, the trade-off is a much more secure, balanced carry that prevents the pack from shifting during technical climbs.
