Circle Y Roughout Flank Cinch

A flank cinch, also known as a rear cinch, is designed to stabilize your saddle by preventing the back of the saddle from lifting or bouncing during faster maneuvers or when riding over uneven terrain. It is a standard component for roping, reining, and trail riding setups.

Roughout leather is chosen for its durability and grip. It is rugged enough to withstand daily wear and tear while providing a secure, non-slip surface that helps keep the cinch in place against the horse's coat.

This cinch features a standard single-loop design, which is compatible with most western saddles equipped with rear cinch dees or slots. However, you should always check that your saddle has the necessary hardware to accommodate a 1.5-inch strap.

To maintain the leather's integrity, brush off dirt and sweat after each ride. If the leather becomes stiff or dry, you can apply a light leather conditioner, but be careful not to over-oil, as roughout leather can darken and lose its texture if saturated.

A flank cinch should be snug but not tight. You should be able to comfortably fit two or three fingers between the cinch and the horse's belly; if it is too loose, it poses a safety risk, and if it is too tight, it can cause discomfort or bucking.
