Wool is a natural insulator, making it highly effective at absorbing heat and protecting surfaces from hot cookware. While it is excellent for standard pots and pans, we recommend using a secondary barrier if you are placing extremely hot cast iron directly from the oven onto delicate surfaces.

This trivet is spot clean only. Because it is made of natural wool, avoid submerging it in water or putting it in the washing machine, as this can cause the felt to shrink or lose its shape.

Like any light-colored textile, the white wool can absorb spills or grease if not addressed quickly. We recommend blotting spills immediately with a damp cloth rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper into the felt fibers.

The trivet measures 8 inches in diameter. It is perfectly sized for standard saucepans, serving bowls, and medium-sized skillets, though you may need two side-by-side for very large roasting pans or oversized platters.
