Unicore technology bonds the sheath to the core, which prevents the sheath from slipping or bunching up. This significantly increases the rope's lifespan and safety, especially if the sheath gets cut or damaged during a climb.

While the Booster III is designed for experienced climbers, its 9.7 mm diameter is a versatile middle ground. It is thin enough to be lightweight and handle smoothly through belay devices, but thick enough to offer durability for those who are just starting to push into more demanding sport routes.

The Golden Dry treatment applies a water-repellent coating to both the core and the sheath. This prevents the rope from absorbing water, which keeps it lightweight and supple even in damp or icy conditions, and also helps prevent internal freezing.

The Booster III is designed to be smooth, but it is not overly slick. Most modern assisted-braking devices and standard tubes handle 9.7 mm ropes very well, though you should always double-check the manufacturer's recommended diameter range for your specific belay device.
