Castor is the natural scent beavers use to mark their territory and communicate with other beavers. Using a castor-based lure mimics these natural signals, making it highly effective at drawing them into your set.

While it is optimized for late fall through spring, you can use it year-round. However, its effectiveness is most pronounced during the cooler months when beaver activity and territorial marking behaviors are at their peak.

A little goes a long way. Start with a small dab—about the size of a pea—placed near your trap site. You can always add more if environmental conditions like heavy rain or snow start to diminish the scent.
