Camelot Reins

The reins are divided into four distinct colors—yellow, red, blue, and green—which provide a clear visual reference for instructors and riders. This allows the instructor to quickly call out specific hand positions or tension levels, helping the rider maintain consistent contact.

At 54 inches long, these reins are standard length and generally appropriate for most horses and ponies used in lesson programs. If you are working with a particularly large warmblood or a very small pony, you may find the length slightly restrictive or excessive, respectively.

The rubber material is specifically chosen for its non-slip properties, making it reliable even in damp or humid conditions. It provides a more secure hold than plain leather, which can become slippery when wet.

While designed as a training aid for novice riders, they are durable enough for daily use. However, most experienced riders eventually transition to standard leather reins once they have developed a consistent, independent hand.

These reins are 0.625 inches wide. This width is standard for training reins, offering a balance between being substantial enough to hold comfortably and thin enough to maintain a sensitive connection with the horse's mouth.
