The traction pattern, often called fishscales, is excellent for rolling terrain and moderate inclines where you want to avoid skins. However, for sustained, steep backcountry ascents, you will still need climbing skins to maintain proper grip.

The soft flex is designed for maneuverability and ease in tight trees or variable snow, rather than high-speed charging on hardpack. If you prefer a damp, stiff ski for aggressive resort-style carving, this might feel too forgiving.

At approximately 2721 grams, these are quite lightweight, which is a significant advantage for long approaches and multi-day tours where saving energy is a priority. They prioritize efficiency on the ascent without sacrificing too much downhill capability.

While you can technically use them at a resort, the traction pattern base is optimized for backcountry touring and will feel draggy on groomed runs. They are purpose-built for human-powered travel, not lift-served skiing.
