While the New Deal is designed for performance, its longboard shape offers enough stability for an intermediate rider looking to progress. If you are brand new to paddleboarding, you might find the thin rail profile and performance-focused concave bottom a bit challenging to balance on initially.

The thinner rails allow the board to bite into the wave face more effectively, making it much easier to initiate turns and carve through sections. This design choice prioritizes maneuverability and responsiveness over the floaty, stable feel of a thicker, beginner-oriented cruiser.
