Derailleur hangers are frame-specific, not universal. You must visually compare your current hanger to the images of the Dropout 662 or check your bike manufacturer's technical manual to ensure the bolt pattern and shape match exactly.

The hanger acts as a sacrificial fuse. It is engineered to fail during an impact, which absorbs the energy that would otherwise damage your bike's frame or derailleur, making it much cheaper and easier to replace the hanger than the frame itself.

While some minor bends can be corrected with a hanger alignment gauge, metal fatigue often weakens the aluminum once it has been bent. Replacing it with a new hanger is the only way to guarantee the precise alignment required for smooth, accurate shifting.

Wheels Mfg hangers are machined from 6061 aluminum to meet or exceed original equipment standards. While they are built for durability, they are intentionally designed to maintain the same structural integrity as your original part to ensure your frame remains protected.

Installation typically requires only a set of hex keys to remove the mounting bolts from your frame and the derailleur. Ensure the mounting surface is clean before attaching the new hanger to ensure a flush, secure fit.
