The insulated hose is primarily beneficial if you frequently hike in freezing temperatures, as it helps prevent the water inside the tube from icing over. If you mostly stick to three-season activities, the standard hose is sufficient.

When properly tightened, the cap creates a secure seal that prevents leaks. However, because it is a hydration system, it is best to keep your bottle upright in your pack rather than tossing it in loose with other gear.

We recommend using a standard hydration bladder cleaning kit with a long, flexible brush to scrub the inside of the hose. The bite valve can be removed and rinsed with warm, soapy water to keep everything fresh.
