Hamboards Burst SurfSkate

The Burst uses a specialized truck system with a 40° front baseplate and 20° rear baseplate, allowing for significantly more lean and rotation than a traditional skateboard. This geometry mimics the fluid, carving motion of a surfboard, enabling you to generate speed by pumping rather than just pushing.

While the stable 10-inch wide deck provides a comfortable platform, the surf-style truck system is highly responsive and can feel loose to those accustomed to standard skateboards. It is an excellent choice for learning surf maneuvers, but beginners should expect a short adjustment period to get used to the carving sensitivity.

The Burst is versatile enough for both. Its stable platform makes it comfortable for cruising around town, while the high-angle rotation is specifically designed for practicing surf turns and generating momentum on flat ground.

The 19-inch wheelbase strikes a balance between stability and maneuverability. It is long enough to provide a stable platform for carving deep lines, yet short enough to keep the board responsive and agile for tighter turns.

Like any high-performance skateboard, you should periodically check the kingpin nuts and pivot cups to ensure the truck system remains responsive. Because the trucks are designed for deep carving, keeping the bushings clean and properly tensioned is key to maintaining that smooth, surf-like feel.
