The 'regular' designation refers to the thickness of the urethane cord. It is designed for standard, everyday surf conditions, offering a balance between durability and flexibility without the extra weight of a heavy-duty big wave leash.

You should inspect your leash before every session for nicks, cuts, or signs of dry rot in the urethane. Even if it looks fine, it is smart practice to replace your leash every 12 to 18 months, or sooner if you surf frequently in rocky areas or heavy conditions.

While this leash is built for durability, it is primarily designed for standard, everyday conditions. If you are consistently surfing in overhead or heavy, powerful swell, you may want to consider a dedicated big-wave leash with a thicker cord diameter for added security.
