While a U-lock is rigid, the folding design allows you to wrap the lock around irregular objects like lamp posts or bike racks that might be too wide for a traditional shackle.

The included mounting bracket is designed to fit most standard bicycle frames, attaching easily to the water bottle bosses or using the provided straps. However, if your bike has an unusually shaped frame or lacks standard mounting points, you may need to carry the lock in a bag instead.

Yes, the links are encased in a durable, non-scratch coating specifically designed to protect your bike's finish. It prevents the metal from directly contacting your frame, so you don't have to worry about scuffs or chips during daily use.

The K9 extends to 1120mm, which is generous for a folding lock. This length is sufficient to secure your frame and one wheel to a standard bike rack, though it may be tight if you are trying to lock both wheels and the frame simultaneously.

The K9 comes with multiple keys, and OnGuard provides a key registration program. We highly recommend registering your key code immediately after purchase so you can order replacements if you lose your set.
