The dish is crafted from durable New England Ash and sealed with a protective, wipe-on varnish specifically designed to resist moisture. While it is built for longevity, we recommend ensuring it is placed in a spot with adequate airflow to help the wood dry out between uses.

The slots allow air to circulate underneath the bar and provide a dedicated channel for water to drain away. By preventing your soap from sitting in a pool of water, the bar stays firm and dries out completely between uses, which significantly slows down the rate at which it dissolves.

The dish measures 4.3 inches by 3 inches, which comfortably accommodates most standard-sized bar soaps. If you use oversized or extra-thick artisanal bars, they may overhang the edges slightly, but the sturdy, flat base will still provide a stable platform.
