This camera features the Sony IMX455 full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor. The back-illuminated design is crucial for astrophotography because it allows more light to reach the pixels, significantly improving sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio when capturing faint objects like nebulae.

The camera uses a two-stage thermoelectric cooling system designed to drastically reduce thermal noise during long exposures. It also includes an integrated anti-dew heating element, which prevents condensation from forming on the sensor window during humid nights.

The QHY 600PH-C offers a 61.17-megapixel resolution with 9576 x 6388 pixels. To manage these large data files efficiently, the camera is equipped with 2 GB of internal DDR3 memory and a high-speed USB 3.0 interface for fast, reliable data transfer.

The camera utilizes robust sealing technology to protect the sensor chamber from humidity and dust. While you won't need to open the chamber frequently, it is always best practice to keep the sensor window clean and store the camera in a dry, controlled environment when not in use.
