Airmar TM150 Transducer

The TM150 is an excellent all-around choice for freshwater and coastal saltwater anglers. Its CHIRP technology excels at identifying baitfish and structure in shallow to mid-depth waters, making it ideal for bass fishing or general recreational angling.

This model features a Navico 9-pin connector, which is compatible with many Lowrance and Simrad units. Before purchasing, check your specific display's port to ensure it matches the 9-pin configuration, as adapters may be required for older systems.

Unlike traditional transducers that ping at a single frequency, the TM150 sweeps across a range of 95-155 kHz. This creates a much higher-resolution image, allowing you to clearly distinguish between individual fish and the structure they are hiding in.

It is designed for straightforward installation on the stern of most boats. You will need to mount it so it remains in clean, undisturbed water while the boat is moving, but the included hardware makes the process manageable for most DIYers.

While the TM150 provides excellent bottom tracking, transom-mounted transducers can lose signal if they are mounted in turbulent water or if the boat is planing at high speeds. Proper placement—ideally away from strakes or intake ports—is key to maintaining a consistent signal while underway.
