A quilt eliminates the back insulation of a sleeping bag, which is typically compressed and ineffective anyway when you lie on it. By removing that material, the Zpacks Solo Quilt saves significant weight and bulk while allowing you to use your sleeping pad's insulation to keep you warm from below.

The quilt includes a flexible attachment system designed to secure the edges to your sleeping pad, which helps seal in warmth. While it lacks a hood, it is designed to be tucked around you, providing a customizable seal that prevents cold air from entering.

The 10-degree rating assumes you are using a sleeping pad with an appropriate R-value to insulate you from the ground. Because quilts rely on your pad for bottom insulation, your overall sleep system's performance depends heavily on the pad you choose to pair with it.

The included attachment system uses straps to secure the quilt to your pad, creating a stable sleep environment. This keeps the quilt centered and prevents it from shifting as you move or roll over during the night.

The maximum user height for this quilt is 78 inches, or 6'6". If you are 6'4", you will fit within the length specifications, though you may want to consider how much coverage you prefer over your head if you like to pull the quilt up high.
