Boar bristles are structurally similar to human hair, which allows them to effectively pick up and redistribute the natural sebum produced by your scalp. Unlike synthetic nylon bristles, which often just detangle, boar bristles condition the hair from root to tip, resulting in a smoother, healthier shine.

This brush works exceptionally well for fine to medium hair textures. If you have very thick or curly hair, you may need to section your hair while brushing to ensure the bristles reach the scalp, or use it primarily as a finishing tool to smooth the surface.

Boar bristles have a firm texture, which is necessary to massage the scalp and stimulate blood flow. While they may feel stiff during the first few uses, they will soften slightly over time as they break in with regular use.

To clean, remove trapped hair from the bristles using a comb or your fingers. You can gently wash the bristles with a mild shampoo and warm water, but avoid soaking the beechwood handle, as prolonged exposure to water can cause the wood to warp or crack.

It is best to use this brush on dry or damp hair. Using natural boar bristles on soaking wet hair can cause unnecessary tension and breakage, as hair is at its most fragile state when wet.
