Unlike traditional aerobic composting that relies on oxygen, Bokashi uses an anaerobic fermentation process. This allows you to compost food scraps—including meat, dairy, and cooked foods—much faster and without the typical rot or smell associated with open piles.

It is highly versatile. While it is designed to kickstart your compost bin, you can also mix the bran directly into potting soil or garden beds to introduce beneficial microbes that improve soil structure and root health.
