VPI Anniversary MC Cartridge

This cartridge is designed specifically for medium-mass tonearms. If your tonearm is significantly lighter or heavier, you may need to adjust your counterweight or add a headshell weight to achieve the proper tracking force and resonance.

The dense bloodwood body is acoustically inert, which helps dampen unwanted mechanical vibrations that can color the sound. This results in a warmer, more natural midrange and a smoother high-frequency response that avoids the analytical harshness sometimes found in metal-bodied cartridges.

The Cross Ring generator places the fulcrum at the precise center of the coils. This unique geometry ensures more accurate cantilever movement and superior channel separation, which translates to a more precise and stable soundstage.

With an output voltage of 0.22 mV, this is a low-output moving coil cartridge. You will need a phono stage capable of providing sufficient gain, and you should set your input impedance to 16 ohms or higher to ensure optimal performance.

While it performs well across the board, its lush midrange and emotive presentation make it particularly well-suited for jazz and classical recordings. If you prioritize a musical, natural sound over clinical precision, it will likely be a great fit for your collection.
