A 7-foot length is the standard size for Western split reins, offering enough slack for most horses while remaining manageable in your hands. If you prefer a shorter feel or ride a smaller pony, you may find you have extra length to adjust.

The Walnut, Regular Oil, and Black finishes are designed to coordinate with standard Western tack. If you are trying to match an existing headstall, look for the finish that most closely aligns with the undertone of your current leather—Walnut is typically a darker, rich brown, while Regular Oil is a lighter, more natural tone.
