Ato Sarashi is a traditional Japanese post-weaving purification process. Unlike standard towels that are bleached before weaving, this method removes impurities like starch and oil after the towel is woven, resulting in exceptional absorbency and a cleaner, softer texture right out of the package.

The towel features a soft gauze front and a piled back. This combination allows it to be gentle on the skin while providing enough surface area on the back to absorb moisture efficiently, all while maintaining a lightweight profile that dries significantly faster than standard plush towels.

Because of its thin, lightweight construction and rapid drying time, it is highly versatile. It works perfectly as a bathroom hand towel, but its absorbent, quick-drying nature also makes it an excellent choice for kitchen tasks where you need a towel that won't stay damp for hours.

The towel is machine washable, which makes daily maintenance simple. To keep the organic cotton soft and absorbent, we recommend washing with mild detergent and avoiding fabric softeners, which can coat the fibers and reduce their ability to absorb water.

It is definitely thinner than a traditional plush towel, but that is by design. Its lightweight profile is intentional to ensure it dries quickly and doesn't harbor moisture, making it a functional, minimalist alternative rather than a heavy, spa-style towel.
