The mat features two layers of high-density polyethylene mesh that act as a one-way filter. Sand, dirt, and grit fall through the top layer and are trapped underneath, preventing them from resurfacing even when you walk on the mat.

It works on any surface. While it excels at filtering sand, the non-absorbent material also prevents mud and dirt from seeping up from the ground, making it a great barrier for grass, gravel, or dusty trails.

The mat includes integrated metal D-rings at the corners for secure anchoring, but stakes are generally sold separately. You will need to provide your own tent pegs or ground anchors depending on the terrain.

Because the material is non-absorbent, it is very low-maintenance. You can simply hose it off with water or wipe it down with a damp cloth, and it will dry quickly without holding onto moisture or odors.

The 6x6 foot (Size S) is typically sufficient for most standard tent vestibules. If you are using the mat as a dedicated outdoor kitchen area or a larger lounge space, you may want to size up to the 8x8 foot (Size M) or larger.

The mesh is durable and functional, but it has a slightly textured feel due to the weave. Most users prefer to lay a towel or a blanket on top if they are lounging for long periods, though it is perfectly fine for sitting directly on while camping.
