The slicer is designed to accommodate standard-sized apples. While it handles most grocery store varieties easily, very large apples may require you to trim the sides slightly before pressing down to ensure a clean cut.

While the stainless steel blades are corrosion-resistant, the coated aluminum body is best washed by hand. Dishwasher detergents can sometimes dull the finish or cause discoloration on aluminum over time.

It is primarily engineered for apples, but it can work on similar firm fruits like pears. Keep in mind that the core diameter is fixed, so it works best with fruits that have a similar core size to an apple.

The design is quite efficient, but you will need to apply firm, steady downward pressure. It is much easier to use if you place the apple on a stable, non-slip cutting board rather than a soft surface.

The blades are integrated into the frame for stability and durability, so they are not designed to be replaced individually. With proper care and by avoiding cutting through hard pits or stones, the stainless steel blades will remain sharp for a long time.
