The rack is constructed from stainless steel, which is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion. While it is built to withstand outdoor conditions, we recommend keeping your grill covered when not in use to extend the lifespan of all your components.

Because this rack sits above the main grate, it has a minimal impact on overall airflow. However, keep in mind that food placed on the upper rack will cook more slowly than food on the main grate, making it ideal for warming or slow-finishing rather than searing.

You can clean the rack using a standard grill brush while the grates are still warm, or remove it and wash it with warm, soapy water. For stubborn residue, a stainless steel-safe scouring pad works well without damaging the finish.

While it is marketed as a warming rack, you can certainly use it to cook foods that require lower temperatures, such as vegetables or delicate items that might overcook on the main grate. Just be aware that it will cook slower than the primary surface.
