The compound action mechanism uses a pivot point system to multiply the force you apply to the handles. This allows you to cut through thicker or tougher branches with significantly less physical effort than standard shears.

Serrated blades are designed to grip branches firmly while you cut. This prevents the stems from sliding out of the jaws, ensuring a clean, precise cut on the first attempt.

The integrated notch is specifically designed for thicker stems that might otherwise be difficult to cut. While it doesn't replace a lopper for very large limbs, it comfortably handles the thicker woody growth typically found in mature hedges.

The 24-inch length provides a good balance of reach and control. It offers enough extension to shape the sides and tops of most standard garden hedges without feeling unwieldy or heavy during extended use.

Because they feature a sap groove, they are easier to keep clean, but you should still wipe the blades down after use to prevent buildup. Periodically oiling the pivot point will keep the compound action mechanism moving smoothly.
