Western red cedar is naturally resistant to rot and decay, making it an excellent choice for outdoor use. If you choose the unfinished option, the wood will naturally weather to a silvery-gray patina over time; if you prefer to maintain the original color, you will need to apply a sealant or stain periodically.

The swing bed arrives partially assembled and requires some setup. While the instructions are straightforward, it is a heavy piece weighing 95 lbs, so we recommend having two people available to assist with the final assembly and installation.

The York Swing Bed is designed with a specific seat depth of 47 inches and a width of 52 inches. While it is built for comfort, it is not sized for a standard twin or full-size mattress; you will likely need to source custom cushions or a specific porch swing mattress pad to fit these dimensions.

The Natural-Kote soy-based stain provides an initial layer of protection against the elements and helps preserve the wood's rich color longer than leaving it raw. Choosing the unfinished option allows you to customize the piece with your own preferred outdoor sealant or paint, or simply let the cedar age naturally.
