While it thrives in the high-humidity environment of a terrarium or vivarium, it can absolutely be grown in a standard pot. Just ensure you use a well-draining potting mix and keep the humidity levels consistent, as this fern prefers a moist environment over dry household air.

Because of its creeping rhizomes, this fern is excellent for mounting. Simply secure the rhizomes against your chosen surface using fishing line or a specialized plant glue, and tuck a small amount of sphagnum moss around the roots to help retain moisture until the plant anchors itself.

This fern prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sun, which can scorch the delicate, lace-like fronds, but ensure it isn't in a dark corner, as it needs sufficient light to maintain its compact, dense growth habit.

It is relatively easy to maintain, provided you can meet its humidity needs. The most important factor is keeping the rhizomes from drying out completely, so regular misting or a high-humidity setup is key to keeping it happy.

Davallia parvula prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F. It is a tropical species, so it should be kept away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, or heaters that could fluctuate the temperature too drastically.
