They work best for plants that prefer consistently moist soil, such as ferns, peace lilies, or pothos. Avoid using them for succulents, cacti, or other plants that require the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as the constant moisture could lead to root rot.

To prevent soil blockage, wrap a small piece of cheesecloth or a coffee filter around the opening of the globe before inserting it into the soil. Alternatively, you can create a small hole in the soil with a pencil or chopstick first, which makes insertion easier and keeps the opening clear.

These globes are specifically designed for indoor use. Outdoor conditions, such as direct sunlight, wind, and higher evaporation rates, can cause the water to release too quickly or lead to algae growth within the glass.

Simply rinse the globes with warm water and a mild soap. If you notice mineral buildup or algae, you can use a small bottle brush to scrub the interior, or soak them in a mixture of water and a small amount of white vinegar to dissolve deposits.
