Prism diagonals, particularly those with high-quality glass like this Baader model, often provide superior contrast and light scatter control compared to standard mirror diagonals. They are an excellent choice for planetary and lunar observation where subtle surface details are critical.

This diagonal is designed for 2-inch focusers. It performs best with telescopes that have a focal ratio of f/6 to f/7 or slower, such as refractors or SCTs. If you use a very fast telescope (f/5 or faster), you may notice some optical aberrations.

The ClickLock mechanism uses a rotating collar that applies even pressure around the entire barrel of your eyepiece. It is much more secure than a standard thumbscrew and prevents the eyepiece from tilting or scratching, which is especially helpful when using heavy, expensive glass.

Most users will not need to adjust the cradle, as it arrives factory-aligned. However, the inclusion of an adjustable cradle allows you to fine-tune the alignment if you ever notice the image shifting or if you are extremely particular about optical centering.
